I just looked at a trailer - it was resonably priced. Drove an hour to look at is since it is only 5/6 years old. I look at it - missing a tie ring on the exterior - No big deal can put one back on. The tires are gone - no mention in the ad or in the phone conversation that it needs tires now. I almost asked them to reduce the price by 1000 to offset the purchase of tire, really glad that I didn't because I am getting quotes of 1600 to 2000 for new tires installed. The least expensive are Firestone and the more expensive are Goodyear. The tires are 14 ply and the same size that it came from the factory with. I have called 8 different places for priceds and they are comparable. How much would you negotiate the price down? I also will not purchase without a mechanical inspection of the the axels, bearings, brakes and the floor and frame and electrical of the trailer. I am anticipating replacing brakes and repacking wheel bearings at my expense.

And maybe the orice is reflective of it needing tires?? Without you telling us how the price stacks up against others, it is hard for us to tell you about negotiating. I guess everything is negotiable, you can always ask. But if it is priced right, won't likely be there very long.
