Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience? When the temperatures rise,I get a rash on my legs in the area of my socks and boots. It is red and itchy and looks rather bad. I have tried different socks, now thinking of changing out my boots. I just hate to since they are barely broken in. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they found something that works.

My wife gets a rash in the summer months. Some people just seems to have skin disorders that become active when it gets hot.

I doubt it's your boots, go see a dermatoligist and get a professional opinion

Have found that using the scent/dye free laundry detergent is a real help... heat seam to exacerbate sensitivity to these little additives...

Many of us who compete at distance rides seem to get it once and awhile. I will second the Gold Bond powder ahead of time. It will help prevent it, or have it not be as bad . ;-)

It seems to pop up more when its a bit humid and hot.

I use the Diabetic socks, Dr. Sholls brand, from Walmart. They don't fit as tight on the legs, but have good foot padding

I'll have to try that too.  I get it just under my socks, don't wear high top boots.  I ride in Ariat Terrains.

Went riding today and tried the gold bond powder. It worked!! The temps were in the mid to upper 80's so I'm sure I would of had a rash. Thanks so much for your advice.

Gold Bond or Monkey Butt should help a lot.

I've never needed it but I've been tempted to by the Monkey Butt just have it sitting around for all to see. That bottle makes me chuckle every time I see it.

I too will have to try the Gold Bond Powder. I get the rash quite often...mostly after long rides.
