I have begun the descontruction of my 1992 Sndowner 3H slant trailer.  The floor is out and that was a huge step in the process.  My goal is to essentially overhaul the trailer, all the rust spots will be removed and repaired, a new floor and a basic LQ installed.  My question for the horse compartment floor is what kind of wood planking should I use?  I have toyed around with the thought that I could use 2X8X20 treated pin with a treated plywood covering for added strength and weight distribution and run the entire length (front to back)  Or should I use a hardwood like Oak and run the boards side-to-side?  Which is safer or stronger?  I am open to suggestions and will take the time to do the job right, I really don't want to do this again, removing the floor was less than enjoyable.
