I'm thinking about getting a portable propane hot water washer to rinse mud, hair and more mud off the equines. One seen on the web is the Eccotemp L5 that appears like it could be alright? Anyone with any experience with this one or others similar? One question is how loud the burner is when it cuts on as to whether this is a "get over the Big Eye" issue for horses? How well do they work?

I have one, it is not loud. I also use it as a cowboy shower water heater. Takes a bit of adjusting to get the temp just right but once I figured that out I left it alone. I like that it is portable. I have allot of water pressure and my water is very very cold it works for me washing horses.

I have one, but never used it to wash horses. I use mine for a cowboy shower in the first stall. It's not loud at all. All you can hear is the clicking of the igniter and then you hear the burner light up. Sounds just like a water heater in the house, hardly noticeable.
