Hi there - I want to acid wash my 2 horse before I list it for sale, and I'm having a hard time finding anyone in my area who will do this! The trailer dealership closest to me said there will be a three week wait before they can get the wash in.  Is there a place/way I can order a product the same, or something that will have the same results?  Any input would be appreciated!

There are products out there for cleaning aluminum trailers but I elect to take my trucks and trailer to the truck stop to get them cleaned. Do you have a truck stop near by that has a "truck wash"? I take mine to the I-80 or Blue Beacon truck wash, let them worry over it while I wait for about 15 minutes.... Truck and trailer looks like new when they're finished. The two facilities below are near me....

Find a truck wash place or find a trucking co, that haules cement powder. Ask if you can buy some of the acid from them. They usually buy theirs in the bulk. I think all you do is spray it on and then rinse it off. If you really want it to look good you will have to polish it after wards.

If you have a painted trailer, one with graphics or a Bison with a Brite-Dip clear finish, DO NOT have it acid washed. Most truck stops offer a citrus wash that isn't harmful to the finishes.

Hydrofluoric acid is commonly used in acid washes, and there have been concerns about its harming the health of livestock. Most acid washes aren't completely rinsed, and the acid residue can remain in places accessable to the horses.

you can do it yourself, there are several good products on the market.I use Streakmaster, and metalwax also makes products for do it yourselfers that don't want the harshness of commercial washes.
