This past weekend my Bison LQ trailer had an unfortunate encounter with a bridge overhang. (made of chain link). Anyway, I ended up with a slash down the entire length of the trailer where the side wall meets the roof. Looks like someone tried to open it up with a can opener...like a giant can of sardines...!!!Took off the running lights and messed up the awning (arm and roller and actual awning.) Never felt it hit the trailer but it did a number on it. Anyone have any experience with getting anything like this repaired?

The damaged piece is actually a separate curved piece of aluminum. It is bolted on to the side and roof.

What does your insurance company say?? That may run up a sizable bill.... Got a Bison dealer nearby with a working shop/mechanic/metal worker? Did it actually cut open the roof of did it just crease it?

It actually cut it open in places....lots of places :-( Insurance company is sending out someone to look at it. Spoke to Dixie Horse and Mule Co, where I bought it, and they said call insurance company first.

DHMC is a Bison dealer and can probably effect whatever repairs your insurance company approves. It sounds as if they will be major and expensive.

Well, trailer is in the shop for repairs. Insurance was great to work with. Local conversion shop does lots of repairs and the insurance adjuster has worked with them before. They have done some conversion work on this trailer for me in the past as well, so I feel good about working with them. About $5,000.00 when it is all said and done. Hopefully will have it back in time to head to Road to the Horse. Then to add insult to injury by truck was dead in the driveway this morning. Had to be towed to repair shop. Man, I hope all of this mess will be the end of my vehicle trouble for 2012!
