I have a 2 horse gooseneck integrity that has three switches on the lower rear corner to the left of the tack door(on outside of trailer)...cant seem to get them to do anything...is there something I have to turn on inside the pulling truck...since integrity is out of business I cant seem to find a manual to check...anyone have some insights to offer?

These switches are most likely fed from a full time hot wire. You either don't have one or it is in the wrong location in your plug. It is a fairly easy install if your plug does not have a hot wire.

if you are plugging into a ford truck, you need to have the trailer plugged in and the truck running.

My Cimmeron has two switches there.

1 exterior loading lights

2 Horse compartment lights

my thanks to everyone who replied...I'm hooking to a GMC and am intrigued by the "need engine running" suggestion so will try it next time I hook up....I have checked fuses and while it seems silly for the system to require the engine to be on (or at least the power to be on) to have the interior trailer lights work (who wants a light that only turns on in a camper when the towing vehicle is running?) its worth a try (especially since my wife swears the lights came on once!)

GMC doesn't have to be running, That's a Ford thing, but there's a 40 amp fuse that has to be in place under the hood. What year model GMC..??

Auxiliary Power

Circuit #742 for Auxiliary Power at the 7-way trailer connector is no longer connected by the GM Assembly Plant. If the customer desires auxiliary power at the trailer connector location (i.e. refrigeration, battery charger or interior light in the trailer), complete the following steps to connect circuit #742:

Locate the red/black wire, looped and taped to the chassis harness, below the brake master cylinder.
Break the tape and route the wire to the front of the underhood electrical center.

Place the terminal on the smaller of the two studs on the electrical center and secure with an M6 fastener. This is circuit #742 to stud #1 for auxiliary power to the 7-way trailer connector.
 1. ONLY for vehicles without RPO TP2 - Auxiliary Battery, install a 40 amp fuse to power the circuit. Important: For vehicles equipped with RPO TP2 -- Devices powered by this fuse will drain the vehicle battery if left connected with the vehicle not running.

the truck is a 2008 GMC 1500 4x4...I'll go look for the wire...thnx for the tip (although my wife swears that she remembers the lights being on at least once quite some time ago...never changed any wiring in the interim...strange!)
