Hello All, I have decided to convert my Featherlite 4' short wall tack area (no door to stalls) into a LQ. I have gotten so much information & pictures from this website. I've decided to just stick with my portable toilet & will have no running water. I do want a shower though. I've looked into solar camp showers & Zodi propane showers for use in the last stall. I've turned my 3 horse slant into a 2 horse with storage in the first stall. Does anyone have experience with either? Any suggestions? I would really apprecaite any comments. 16

Go with the Coleman hot water on Demand, easy to use and good water flow. Another option is the tankless hot water units which look good as well but I think they connect to a water hose. The Zodi I tried but personally did not like as much as the Coleman.

I have the tankless propane water heater from Camping World for my weekender. It was $156 delivered to my door. It hangs on the butt window bars and attaches to a gravity fed hose from the water tank up on the hayrack. It has a nice shower head. It's pretty simple to use.

Thank you. Just checked it out on-line. Looks like just what I need, along with the shower attachment. Can I set it inside on the floor of the trailer or would I have to use it outdoors and bring the shower/hose inside? As you can tell, I've never used anything like this before.13

Another vote for Coleman. You may have to sit it on a bucket, I use an old TV tray in the back of my trailer. Mainly do this because the hose is a little short to reach the top of your head otherwise. I use the pump, and just throw it in a 5 gallon bucket of water. I doesn't give off much emissions. I use in the back of my trailer, and even have in my house during power outage. You are no suppose to, but the fumes are minimal with usage. Almost instant heat when you turn on. One button turns on pump and heater. So very easy, turn on wet down-turn off soap up-turn on rinse down. I have never used a full 5 gallons to shower, I am a man though.

I also love my coleman. And there service is excellent! Mine stopped heating up 1 1/2 years after I bought it & they just shipped me a new one when I called. We put it in the living quarters (unfinished/in process) and I stand in a muck size bucket. I use half the 5 gallon containers, even to wash my long hair. Then we just carry the bucket out and dump it. Love, love it

I might as well add that I like my Coleman hot water on demand, too. I have the pump and the connection for a garden hose. If you only use potable, clean water in it, you can use it for dishes and I think you can even use it for hot water for drinks like instant coffee. I, too, have used it in my house bathroom to see how it worked in an enclosed space and really didn't think it gave off a lot of carbon monoxide, so in the back of a horse trailer with some ventilation may be OK - but, of course, you always have to be careful.I want my shower inside my weekend package (in progress) rather than in the back, though, and my design is centered around the Coleman unit, where it will provide for shower (inside or outside with shower tent), sink, and pump water to the horses in back. I'm not sure that it is strong enough to really wash down the horses, but it's positioned so that I can use it for that purpose if it's sufficiently powerful.

I looked the camping world heater up online and am interested in more info. We also have a water tank on the trailer roof that we are in the process of installing to a cowboy shower. So if we run it through the heater the water will still run by gravity as long as the heater is hung high enough? Like the top slat on the side door of a stock trailer? thank you so much for the info!

Marissa, that is how mine is set up amd it works just fine. I use one of the portable doggie baths to catch the water with an old hose hooked to it to drain the water into the sewer drain or away from the trailer. It hangs either in the front stall or in the back stall on the window bars. There is more pressure in the back stall since it is directly under the water tank.

I don't have a water source on the top of the trailer and will give the Coleman a try. There is a great video on You Tube " complete camp shower system w/coleman hot water on demand" It shows how to set it up with an additional hose and an on off switch for the shower head. Thank you for all of your imput. I'm starting another thread on air condtioners and insulation. The information on this site is fantastic.....
