Since this is my 1st post I'll start with Hi Everyone, its nice to be here and see all the great info and help this forum offers! On to my question....I will soon have(sending in the order this week)a GN featherlite "big horse" 8549 4 horse trailer with an 8ft shortwall dressing room not LQ...I do plan to add LQ in time. I own 3 horses, two of them are "normal" size as in they are a paint and qh. My 3 rd horse however is a 18.1 hh 2200lb percheron. I am planning on taking out one of the dividers so that my big guy has lots of room. Here is my question...How would you load my horses? Would you put the two small horses up in the front and then pull the 3rd divider or would you put the big guy in the front and pull the 1st divider or would you load him in the middle and pull the 2nd divider? The trailer axles are under the 3rd/4th horse area. My brain says to put the load (the big guy) right over the axles but I've always been told to put your heaviest load towards the front of the trailer to avoid trailer sway.....opinions????

Put your big horse over the axles. On your GN, the trailer will not sway and you can use the front stall for storage if its empty. Loading the front stall is a common conception used by BP haulers, that can vary from trailer to trailer. Each rig can have different loading requirements and out comes. GN trailers are not as susceptible to load balancing as are BP trailers.
