We are starting my LQ in my trailer, and want a tv antenna on roof. Am looking at the Winegard Roadstar 2000 or the new "The Jack" antenna. The Jack antenna is much smaller and seems like a good choice, does anybody have any experience with this antenna? I see a lot of the Roadstar round antenna on trailers, just looking for different opinions on each. Thanks

No exp. with the jack. Have had several Winegards and only had one problem. That was it came lose at the spot mounted to the trailer and where the dish bolted to the brackets on one trailer. A little thread locker on both solved it. Gets decent reception.
Something to thing about--some of my friends are not putting any antenna on new trailers. They just use their broadband card with their laptop and get TV off the internet. Seems to work even in more places than the antenna. You can even get a 12 volt booster for you broadband that works pretty good-I have one in my pickup that does increase the range.
If I got a new trailer, I would not get an antenna for the TV, just a broadband booster.

Thanks Paul! I knew about the hulu site, but not about the other one. That's great. You can get the same news the is currently playing on television - and that's available all around the world. That's nice! and I did not know about it.

I don't have a laptop at the time so that won't work for me. I have a VuQube that I use now, but sometimes when we are locally here I just want to use the local digital channels, and don't need the cable channels, that way I can get the network stations of ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox. Just wanted to see if anybody had installed the jack antenna and how it worked for them.

I have switched from the broadband card to the MIFI. It runs up to 5 devices at the same time. So,on a recent roadtrip, everyone had wifi that was in the truck. Some were surfing the net, others were watching TV or movies on their devices. Now if we could just figure out how to hook the overhead TV in the truck to the mifi, wecould also watch Netflix on a larger screen and listen with the wireless headsets. But, we did figure out how to plug the ipad into the external game ports to watch it.
