While we're on the subject of cleaning our trailers and this is a lot of great information, what do you folks find is the best product for removing the bugs and cleaning the stainless steel nose? It seems we get more dead bugs on the trailer than the windshield of the truck!

Upon close inspection, if the metal is somewhat rough and pitted to the touch and sight, chances are it is uncoated. If you are unsure, just use the bug remover. It is safe for all modern automotive finishes. If your stainless is uncoated, it can be polished and coated with an automotive clear coating. This will make future clean ups much easier, and provide a high gloss finish.

Bounce sheets also work well if you don't have anything else, just dampen and rub, takes the bugs right off. Used them on my trailer one time when the nose was almost completely black with those stupid bugs. Took a little more rubbing than usual because they were so thick, but worked great. They are what I always use.

That's interesting since Bounce dryer sheets also work well on your horse. We attach them to the headstall between the horses ears to help repel flies and gnats. But it must be "Bounce". Don't know what's in it that repels them. It's amazing the different uses for some products!

I have used them for that too. I have put them on several places on the headstall and it helped keep those big nasty horse flies from getting on their noses. There is suppose to be a bunch of things they are good for.
