Have a LQ trailer that has a commode that has the pipe running straight through the floor and out on the ground. I was wanting to possibly add a grey tank. How hard are these to install and is there anything special I need to know? It's on an older CM Norstar and the floor beams don't look real easy to cut out like some trailers... (looks like they are integrated into the floor) so I was thinking that even if I find the flattest one possible it may still hang a little below what I would want.

I've both installed and replaced a gray tank in LQ. If you don't mind being on your back on the ground it's not too bad. Measure between your beams to see how much room you have, then figure out how long it needs to be allowing for room for your drain values. I've used metal straps attached to the beams to hold them up, and never had any problems. If you Google around you can find a tank that will likely fit. You can also find places to special order odd sizes. If you look under other trailers, you will see that most tanks hang down a little. How much you can stand will depend on how high off the ground your trailer is and where you go. The hardest part for me would be getting the pipe on your potty to match the hold you have to make in the top of your tank. Go visit a trailer dealer and look under different trailers to see how it done as a starting point. Good luck!
