I have a 2008 chevy 2500HD deisel 2WD with gooseneck ball.  I am buying a 10K pound trailer and want your recommendations on having Timbrens or air bags installed.  Or do I need anything additional at all?  My current 8500 pound trailer only causes it to squat about three inches.

I have timbrens installed on my F250 and love them. They ride great loaded and they are virtually unnoticeable when unloaded. Some say they don't like them because of the "changed ride quality" but I haven't had that experience.

My favorite part is that they were easy to install and there is zero maintenance. No compressors, fill lines, or up and down everytime you tow. Just hook up and go.

My LQ trailer used to squat my 250 about 3-4 inches. Now only 1 inch.

I've got the air bags on both my trucks. Love em. My 350's would squat 4-5 inches and I felt like an airplane on takeoff, let alone the reduced weight on the front end which affected control. Now I just inflate (no onboard compressor) to level and go. When deflated they don't affect the factory ride at all. Had a friend that was skepital about them so he rode with me and another friend with the Timbrens. Both now have the air bags.

I would hook up to the trailer first, then see if they are needed. I pull a bumper pull with a 2500HD and it puts about 900# on the hitch. Truck still sits a little higher in the rear than the front, rides nice loaded. No aux. springs needed.

I use Timbrens.  They are very easy to install and I don't have to adjust them.  They don't affect the truck ride when the truck is empty but level the truck out when loaded.
