I am in the process of buying an Exiss 2+1 without the dressing room. I'll be towing with a Silverado HD 3/4 ton gas truck.I am a bit nervous with the gas prices. Anyone have any idea what I can expect for milage when towing? My current trailer is a 2 horse straight load Exiss ss20rp which i towed with a 1/2 ton Tundra.

What kind of mileage did you get with the Tundra? My 1999 Silverado got about 11 mpg when towing the trailer without the horses. Hauling isn't cheap that's for sure and the price of gas - yikes!!

Which engine and which rear end? What is the weight of your trailer loaded?

I tow a 4 horse with 10 foot LQ with a 2500HD 6.0 gas, my mileage is between 10-11 on the flat land at 60-65 mph. Going up hills and/or fast will kill mileage.

Ten owners of the same rigs will get ten different mileages. There are many variables in driving styles, geographic conditions, the shape, weight and size of the trailer, tires and tire pressures, ambient temperature, open highway or short trips etc, etc. Your mileage can vary by as much as 50% from a comparable rig.

My 2010 GMC 2500HD with 6.0, six speed auto, and 3.73 gears will get 9.5 mpg running 70 mph and 11.5 mpg running 60-65 mph. That little bit of extra speed really kills the mileage. That's pulling one of these trailers with two well rounded walking horses inside.
