Has anyone out there gotten a quote on putting in a horse access door from LQ? I keep seeing trailers I like, but my top choices are missing that darn door! It seems like it would be cheaper than shipping my dream trailer from out of state.

Yeah, isn't it amazing how many trailers lack that door? That's the one big thing my trailer lacks. I had read here that you can buy a door for about $300 (someimes even $200) and install it pretty easily. That's true, except the support beams on my steel trailer are too narrow, so look at the structure of the trailer too.
I'd like to find out how to just do a narrower door that fits between the supports since I haven't been able to find one that is narrow enough. If your supports are farther apart, then that issue doesn't exist.
So, all trailer structures are not created equal when it comes to adding a walk-through door.

Most major brands 24" walkthru doors will cost $300-400 and labor to install properly will be at least the cost of the door. Usually allow $800-1000 to have it done properly.
