I have mine insured with my local Farm Bureau. USAA would not even consider it because of it's class even though my title says Freightliner Pick up Truck. I think if they would have titled at as a RV hauler like my older FL 60 was, it would have made my life easier. My tags are in it's weight class in the commercial range, but my dually tags are also commercial just not as high of a weight limit.
I travel all over the US pulling a LQ trailer and feel so much safer in the Sportchassis that I feel the added hassle is definately worth it.

I also have mine insured with my local Farm Bureau, they had the best rates that I found. I ended up switching all of my vehicles to them. I think Progressive insures them as well, but may be a little more pricey.

Try Progressive...they will insure it as a RV as long as you are pulling a LQ or a 5th wheel since the trucks are RVIA approved....if that does not work, call 800-615-1645 and ask for Ellie or Michelle. They work for Cross County Insurance Co. They are VERY FAMILIAR with these trucks...
The key here is to get it insured as an RV...the name "business class" is tagged to every Freightliner M2 when the insurance Co. pulls the VIN#..they think it is an over the road truck....so that is why they are calling it commercial...
If I had to guess...you should be around $1200-$2000 per year as long as the driving record is OK....GOOD LUCK !!!

I have been paying $72.50 a month with Farm Bureau since I purchased my Sportchassis new in Apr 2005. I had a 2002 Sportchassis that was insured by the same company that I was paying right at $60.00 a month.
Some good friends of mine have a full "sister" to my truck and have it insured with the Progressive RV division but it is my understanding that you must also insure the truck & LQ trailer as a unit. When I did the math, it was cheaper the way I had mine set up.

Whew, this is an old thread! Since my 2007 post, I no longer have my Sportchassis insured with Farm Bureau. Seems like there was this little rule called the 150 mile radius from my farm that could have gotten me in big trouble if I had had a wreck! I thank my friends here on this board for questioning the extremely low price with FB. Seems the local agent set it up wrong!
I have been with Blue Sky RV for the last 3 years, instead. They will only isure truck with the LQ trailer as a unit. $100 K coverage on each, the Sportchassis and the Bloomer, and it cost me $150 a month. That is with a excellent driving record with no ticket or accident history.
