I was out in the trailer earlier today..and batteries were low..so I plugged it in..I have done this from time to time to keep the batteries charged..I am not in it alot, but I check thing regularly..and sit and day dream a bit of next season /riding & camping..

Should I keep it plugged in all the time..does it do any damage by doing so..or does it help the life span of the batteries..
Thanks

Unless your trailer is a new one featuring the converter/chargers that also act as a battery tender, you will over charge your battery by leaving the power on. This will overheat the battery and destroy it. If you have to leave the power on, turn off the battery switch. If you're not using the trailer, turn the battery switch back on for an hour or two every month. This will keep the battery charged.

I take mine out and store them indoors for the winter.  I do not use my LQ off season.

I charge each battery indoors for three days and then leave them to spring.

If you need your trailer IE; battery runs the electric jack.  Then research your converter as Gard said to see if it does or can by simply upgraded to provide proper charging.

I left my batteries plugged in 24x7 this past season.  Just took them in, none needed watering.

After all of the discussion about this (and leaving my trailer ON for a year and a half...I had to check! I opened the little door where the fuses are and right there on the door it was printed in the instructions that it does in fact have the battery "tender" feature...Whew!

My very small living quarters was converted before I bought it and I'm not too sharp about all this...my question is, instead of winterizing pipes I am just leaving a small heater on a thermostat in mytrailer and keeping it plugged in.  Should I unplug the batteries while I am doing this?  I don't know about a converter etc and have no electric jack.
