Hello I am looking at purchasing a LQ trailer and have really liked the Bloomer, Platinums, and Four Stars, (and have always heard the best about these brands-I will be hauling a lot, almost every weekend) but have found a Sundowner that I really like for a good price and am wondering if I can get some reviews of Sundowners???This trailer is a few years old in model, but is brand new. It has a slide out, which I have told can become costly if problems occur.Insight please, thank you.

Perform a search under Sundowner ( body and heading) for the last 360 days. You will find many threads about that brand.

the all aluminum's are as good a trailer as there is, not so with the steel frame. Serial numbers last 6 start LA or AA are all aluminum 2008 and older trailers. If you are looking at the trailer and the gusset is riveted it is steel frame. Welded is aluminum

Well myself I would have NEVER bought one just because of the price, BUT 2 years ago I we got a killer deal on a 2004 model Signature Series 8010 3 horse that the LQ had never been use in and now if I was looking for another I would buy another Sundowner.  The main reason being is customer service we have recieved from Sundowner dealers even though we did not buy the trailer new or from them.

As far as steel frame, don't let some of them turn you away because some of heard bad stories.  If you are looking at used trailers and it does have a steel frame look under the right rear corner for rust.  This is the main place it will start, caused by lack of maintance and letting pee and poo set without proper wash out and clean up.  Don't be afraid to hit the under side with a hammer or something to see if it is solid.  The slide out in the Sundowners is a really simple set up and easy to make adjustments if needed.

You say "new" are you buying it from a Sundowner dealer?  If so and it is being sold as a "new trailer" it will have a 3 year bumper to hitch warranty and 8 year structural warranty.
