Hi my husband and I are converting or Cimarron trailer. Everything is going great but we are banging our heads against thew wall about how to cover the walls. We want to use some kind of vinyl type covering. I know about the wall vinyl from Jazz Sales but so expencive. I was wondering if anyone knew of similar product and were to find them, or seggestions on what to use.

You can get a siding from most of the big box stores it is in the paneling section and is called FRP, it is made out of fiberglass and plastic, a little more expensive but works good, we used it in our trailer, just besure that you have insulation to glue it to. Our old trailer had alumininum sheets, worked great but very expensive.

You could buy paneling to apply to the walls - they come in everything from various wood looks to textured wallpaper looks. The cost for a 4' by 8' sheet was $30 to $50. You can also buy the strips to match the paneling to seal the cracks.
You could also panel your walls with "one side smooth" plywood, and then apply wallpaper. After putting up the plywood you would crack fill the plywood cracks, and apply the wallpaper with wallpaper paste after priming the walls with wallpaper primer. This will take longer than using paneling, but it will give you a bigger selection of colors and patterns, and also will make your walls solid everywhere so you can install your cupboards, etc without worrying about where your furring is.
You could also paint the plywood, but unless done carefully this will probably end up looking tacky because it will be tricky to hide all the cracks and flaws where the screws to. If i was to paint I'd probably use paint with texture, this would hide some of the imperfections.
Or you could go with the vinyl - I'd ask local upholstry shops the cost because that would save you shipping expenses.

I would be interested in splitting a roll of the vinyll wall covering. It comes in a roll 54" by 180 Ft. I don't know how much everyone else is going to need but that is a lot of material. maybe we could split it 3 ways and all have enough and not have a lot left over. If anyone is interested, send me a note and we could discuss colors

If anyone else gets this thread pushed to them and is interested in the vinyl wall covering and doesn't need a whole roll. I am in the market to split one. I don't anticipate needing a ton of it as I am only redoing a 4" SW Exiss.
I am also interested to hear others experience on putting it up. I have seen some great pictures in the albums and would love some pointers.
