Be sure to post on Horse Trailers Wanted under the Horse Trailers for Sale menu. I've had good luck with dealers contacting me on what I was looking for.... and found the trailer I wanted and bought it.

I agree with docbar20 Dixie Horse & Mule are great people to deal with I just got a used 4 Horse slat trailer with a 10 ft long wall & 6 ft short wall at a great price and they delivered it to Florida from Alabama and picked up my trade in at a very reasonable price cheaper than it would be to drive up there and pick it up, and when I am ready for another one I will be going to them first, I dealt with Dan Byers

Add Elite and Platinum to your list as well. The good thing about Elite and 4 Star is that they have been around for quite some time and there are many used trailers of these brands around. The downside is that pickings are slim in the PNW. I looked for years in WA and OR and couldn't find anything to meet my needs and ended up traveling to Southern CA to get my Elite. Prices are down here in the US. Check out HTW "Horse Trailers for Sale" for trailers which meet your specifications. There are some great bargains in used high end trailers out there, definately worth the travel. I made purchase arrangements long distance and purchased after I had actually seen the trailer. The seller provided many many detailed photos.

I, too, have dealt with Dan at Dixie and they are great to work with. You may want to take a look at Blue Ribbon trailers. If you go to the trailer news forum you will find a great report on them including many pictures of how they are made. The quality is comprable to 4 Star.

Platinum trailers are top of the line, engineered like Elite, 4-Star, and C&C. I think you will be surprised at what you can price a brand new Platinum for since they have postponed a price increase for a few years because of the economy.
