Anyone got any suggestions as to where they keep cowboy hats in the LQ? My kids always seem to toss them on the counter, table, seat, etc and I would prefer to find a place that I could have them put them during shows. A box isn't really practical as the hats are on and off several times a day. I don't really have wall space to put them. I am thinking about one of the spring loaded holders you use in a pickup attached to the roof over the camper door.

It would be a simple matter to fabricate a wooden slip bracket and mount it to the ceiling. It could be based on the various designs used to hang and store stemware glasses, enlarged to fit the hat's center. With no hardware or springs involved, a hat could be stored with only one hand, which would easier to accomplish than a spring type with the higher ceilings.

My trails west came with some of the spring loaded wire hat racks installed in the ceiling of the tackroom. I'd bet that would work for you, but can everyone reach them?

In some of the LQ I have seen the last couple years at the NFR, the Hat rack is directly above the door. when ya think about it, it makes a lot of sense, that room isn't being used for anything else and its very convienent, first thing when ya come in and last thing before leavin' it's "Cowboy simple"

Sorry I could not stop myself....
We put ours on our head during shoots, shows, ropings or whatever event we are doing. If they can't wear them while they are waiting for the next class they don't ride in the next class.

Not sure if you have ever tried to wear a hat under and english helmet, it doesn't work well. Also kind of impractical to wear it in the bed when you are taking a little rest in between classes on a 90 degree afternoon, not to mention bad luck to put you hat on the bed.

but some are raised to take their hats off when they go inside. And that would be the LQ to some
