Several years ago I had a rooftop A/C installed on my 1992 4 Star bumper pull horse trailer.  My situation quickly changed, and I have not ever used it.  I am interested in uninstalling the a/c in order to sell it, but I've searched the web and cannot find instructions on how to do so.  Is this possible?  I'd like to DIY it in order to save money, but I would need good instructions.  Any ideas?

First, unplug trailer from 120volt source. Find the circuit breaker that feeds the AC, remove the wire from the breaker.

Then there should be two screw holding the inside trim on, there will be a wiring harness from the fan speed selector and temp switch...that needs to be unplugged. Then there should be a junction box where the 120volt wire leads to. Remove the cover and remove the wire nuts and ground wire connection. Remove/loosen the wire connection/clamp that fastens the wire to the box.

The fabric inside duct needs to be removed. Now look for (4) hex head bolts. I think they will 1/2". Unscrew these. The inside duct work will lower down.

Go up on the roof and wrestle it free. You may want to remove the outside shroud first.

Welcome to HTW....!!

How much are you expecting to get for a used roof top A/C unit...? $50.00? $75.00? You'll be luck to get that much money for it with it laying in a box, on the ground.... Need to prove that it works. You'll get more money for it if you show the prospective buyer that it works properly installed on the trailer. You'll need something to plug the hole in the roof also, something like a crank up roof vent or DC powered fan. If it were me, I would leave the A/C be....

Just like the above poster said it will add more value to your existing trailer than you can get out of it that's including repairs needed to plug the hole left.

I'm going to agree with what the others said, the value of the AC is probably very little and if I was looking to purchase a trailer and found one with the AC removed and replaced it would scream LEAKS to me and I would probably just move on unless it was priced way under the value.
