And wow did we have good time. We had a great time on the trails on and met lots of nice people. This a a very nicely laid out campground, great horse stalls and a very nice shower/bathrooms. Larry and Geri, you two are doing a super job!!! We did get turned around on the trail once. Do bring a compass with, it comes in very handy for reading the maps. But Geri was great help when we called from a trail marker and she got us turned the right direction and on our way. She will help you highlite a trail and explain to you where you are going and what you will see. Thank you Nancy Olson from TX for selling her compass to us. We ignored the number 1 rule and rode out one day with out our slickers. You can guess where this is going. We rode 3 hrs in the cold wet rain. We were very glad to see camp when we got back in and enjoyed a hot shower. Our horses did great and we area hoping to go back out again next year. Now I see why people keep going back, beautiful country and great trails.

Waiting for son to help us down the load pics in the computer then on here. Hopfuly in a day or two we will have pics It was great to ride for 5 hours everyday.

We are headed there next week and was wondering if the trail to Mt. Rushmore is worth the hassle of trying to trailer the 15 horses to the trail head. Someone told us that the trail actually ends on the other side of the road from Mt. Rushmore. Just wondering if it would be worth doing for the trouble?

We trailered 3 horses to the Iron Creek Trailhead that goes to Mount Rushmore. The trail takes you to the highway and you can tie your horses up and walk to Mount Rushmore. The trail that goes to Mount Rushmore is not marked so just take the first trail that is not marked that goes right. We enjoyed the ride.
