I got a "new" trailer last month and it is supposed to have a rear collapsable tack.  It's missing and I'd like to find a new one to put in it.  The make and model on the title are listed as TWI.  I haven't found anything on the net.  Anyone hear of this brand/mfg?

Looking on the Internet, there is a TWI Industries in Pittsburgh, PA that is listed as having made industrial trailers.

Do you know where the trailer was made?

I don't know anything about it.  The lady I got it from said it had a California title when she bought it.

Maybe some of the trailer pros will add their knowledge.
The trailer should have a VIN (vehicle identification number).
If you take that Dept. of Motor Vehicles, I think they can run it and look up information on the trailer.
The VIN should also be on the title. I believe the VIN has 17 digits/characters.

Terri, I gather that you were not required to go through some process to assign a 17-character VIN to this trailer.

I had read online on a different state's website about the process to assign a VIN to a trailer that did not have a 17-character VIN.

The trailer was already titled and nothing was said about it when I transfered it.  The previous owner said she never had a problem renewing her tags on-line either.  I don't know.......
