Bought the new truck 4x4 Dodge 3500, expected to have the problem, but do not know how much clearance I need. It is scary watching that nose get close to the new bedrails! Right now it has 6", I can have my axles blocked...but what I need to know is what to ask for. Help is appreciated :) My trailer is an Elite and has a drop nose.

Thank you for the reply. I would feel good about 9 inches of clearance. If I raised the coupler, the trailer is too slanted :( I don't mind blocking, but then I think I will need a ramp as it would put my rear bumper at 23"...and the list goes on eh?

We put a cody air ride hitch in our 2010 dodge. Also used it in the 08 Ford. It raises the ball higher without having to mess with the coupler. Since I use two different trucks to pull the same trailers, I can make adjustments by just adding or letting air out of the hitch.

Painted Horse...THANK YOU! I would have never thought 9"...raised it to 9" before my trip to Devils's Den, if I would have been 8 1/2" my new truck would have had a big boo boo!
