Hey guys, My truck's a 2008 GMC diesel-- 3/4 ton crew cab short box 4x4. I get tired of stopping all the time to fuel up. I'm pulling up to Alaska this summer so I'm thinking of getting a larger fuel tank put in. Has anyone else here done this? Is there a down side to it? The tank I'm looking at (Titan) runs about $1100 bucks. It hold 52 gallons. I have no idea what the original tank is but I'd guess about 25 gallons. Advice appreciated. Curly

I don't have a Titan, check the dieselplace.com, couple guys over there have them.  I do have a 90 gallon RDS tank in the bed, with that and the 34 gallon OEM I can go a loooong way.  Got mine from Northerntool, about $500 once I got done wrenching.

The Titan replaces the factory fuel tank.  They are pretty much the experts at the direct tank replacements.  Where as the Transflow is well know for their Add a Tank product.  Just depends if you want to use the bed of the truck or not.

We have the Transflow with the computer that automatically transfers the fuel. We love it. We have a long bed truck though. Our 50 gallon tank is really small though and doesnt take up alot of bed. They make different size and configuration of tanks.

I went to welding shop and had my fuel tank custom made to help fit into our long box and one for our short box. Both are 75 gallons, and I'm not gonna say that we saved a lot of money getting it done this way but did get exatly what we wanted.

Than after fuel tank was made bought a pump and plumbed it straight into the neck of our tank. Put a switch in the 04 and used the aux switches in the 05 and when fuel tank is bout 1/4 left turn switch on till bout 3/4 full than keep driving. The gauge doesn't keep up as fast as the tank is filling so always turn it off bout 1/4 before full and than when it cathces up your full. Takes bout 15 mins
