Kind of what I was wanting to know to start with .....
I guess some folks that have probably never owned one have more information. I am quite capable of looking up trucks on autotrader. I was really trying to find out if anyone that owns one liked it or didnt.

The only complaint I have heard is the MPG bites, My 05' 5.9 was the strongest truck I have ever owned, I've had several Powerstrokes and currently driving a Duramax.

I have a 2007 6.7L. The first year they came out. The emissions were put in with compliance with 2010 emissions. I have never had an issue with this truck and the power when towing is right up there with our '97 7.3L Ford. I love how it handles, the turning radius when towing is great, it's a very comfortable ride. I use it to tow horses, cattle and for our trips over the hill into Nevada. There have been a few recalls, but I have taken it in and they were fixed, and that's it. They weren't severe issues. With towing any vehicle is gonna drop in fuel mileage, but I can honestly say I do get 16-18.5 when towing.
Now I do know with the newer ones since the first 6.7L's are having computer issues and whatnots. There are several folks around here that have the newer ones and have contested to these issues as well.
It's all preference in what you like or want. We do have a Chevy, Ford and Dodge, so one of each, don't show no predujice here. The 5.9L's are still great, but if you want a new truck you can order the 6.7 or the 5.9L still.

Hey Chad if you don't want to believe me that's up to you, I'm not twisting your arm to, but yes that is, so believe what you wish.
Depends on type of pulling I'm doing, type of load, type of terrain, hills, duh think about it. Just stating what I have encounter with mine, others may be different.
If God wanted us to all be the same he would of made a world of clones. Maybe you should re read your statement in your signature. Some folks come here for opinions to maybe help them out with choices, not to read smart ass remarks.

Hmmmm I drove my Duramax this morning to work. Sure it was -10 outside. I let it run for 15 min. before I left.. Didn't have the 4 wheel drive locked in this time. Mine said 11.6. No trailer. On a nice summer day pulling my 3 horse g.neck. I'll get 12.3 or so it says. I'm still not trading it for no Dodge. My neighbor has one and loves his.

Milage, I have discovered, depends on alot of other factors besides which engine. Size and weight of truck, size and weight of trailer or load and the individuals' driving habits as well as driving terrian (ie:hills or flat land). I had a 2005 Dodge 3/4 ton 4 door short bed 2 WD 6 speed manual 5.9 diesel 3.73 rear end. It got 20 and up to 24 MPG highway or town driving. Pulling the Cimmaron 3 H slant 4 ft DR it got 17 MPG. Pulling the new Cherokee 3 H slant 10 ft SW LQ it dropped to 12 or 13 MPG. I generally drive around 60 to 65. Will bump up to the 70 speed limit on a good Interstate. I wrecked that truck and replaced with a 2007 Dodge 1 ton dually 4 door 4 WD automatic 5.9 diesel 3.73 rear end. So heavier truck with 4 WD, auto trans but same engine and rear end. Pulling the LQ trailer (the only one I have now) I get the same 12 to 13 MPG. Highway and city driving I get only 16 or 17 MPG. So I think there are too many variables to state MPG's on various trucks with any importance to maybe buying or not buying a particular truck. But hey, thats just my .02 ! LOL

I was actually asking for dependability, problems, etc. I should have clarified that but it was too late to edit. I am not buying new but I am not buying with more than 30-35k miles either. I would prefer less because there out there. Thanks for the replies.
Also probably not going to buy 4x4 because of the height. I have only owned two trucks to tow with that have not been 4x4. I hate to now but GM's are expensive, Fords are not on the list, and the Dodge is simply too dang high. IMO.

I have never gotten good fuel mileage with any truck, chevy or dodge. It amazes me that everyone else comments on mileage way above anything I have had and I have had maybe 8 new trucks in the last 10 years. I never kept many long enough to break them in not sure that makes a difference? My duramax gets 15 mpg in the summer empty and 10 mpg pulling the LQ.

I have had them get 16-21 but it definately depends on the driving. Also depends on loaded or unloaded. Loaded I have never gotten better than 13/14 and as low as 6/7 with 05 duramax.
The 21 came from 03 duramax but had a programmer. It would run like a striped ape but the programmer eventually made the tranny slip once two many times. the current 2500 i have now gets 18 running 85 on the interstate. Loaded its about same as any others 11-13 depending on how you drive.
Bottom line is when you mash the pedal or as the in the 05's case hold it to the floor it gets poor mileage.
I just have never owned a dodge but hear good things about them pulling.

If you look around the internet you will find very different opinions on the reliability of the 6.7 Cummins in the 2007.5 and up Dodge Trucks. Like stated by an earlier poster they had to comply with new emmission standards which caused them to rethink how they did certain things. They added and EGR system as well as a DPF that caused some initial problems with soot and carnon if idled to much or not worked hard enough but those problems seem to have been corrected. With certain modifications they can be made to be just as reliable and get almost as good of fuel economy as the 2007 and older 5.9 engines which are not available anymore. If you google "6.7 dodge diesel reliability problems" you will have more than enough info to keep you reading for weeks.
