Hi
I am looking (via e-mail) at a 1989 Featherlite 4 horse head-to-head trailer. From the pictures, I think it is FRP, seller says all-aluminum. It's too far for me to drive to look at just to see which it is. Is there a way to tell from year/model?
I had a 1999 FRP trailer that was a different make, but all the pictures of this one scream FRP to me, although I don't know why the seller would say aluminum if it wasn't, unless they aren't familiar w/ it themselves.

The Featherlite FRP trailer was called "Touch of Class". It was marked on the outside with that model name, but may not be visible now. Ask the seller. They were sold as all aluminum trailers perhaps because the frame and trim was aluminum, not steel. Can you see vertical rows of rivets or screws in the siding? Ask the seller to send you a picture of the line of fasteners holding the aluminum skin in place every 2 to 4 feet down the side. FRP would not have these fasteners, as it was one solid sheet.

I have a 99 Featherlite and had some questions about it. I called Featherlite direct and gave them the serial number and they told me ALL about the trailer. Very nice folks and very helpful..
