Hi,  I gave a lady and her horse a ride recently and was criticized for having my trailers ties attached to the trailer with the panic snap and attached to the horse with the bull snap.  I understand that the way I have it that I would be releasing the load toward the pressure, but if I reverse it is it really a good idea  to put my arm/head close enough to a horse in trouble to release the tie from the halter?  I've been told a couple of times that I'm doing this wrong.  Thanks Joan

I really don't think it makes any difference... I would rather have the panic release at the trailer, then the tie/rope/line becomes a lead line when it's released..... Aids in holding/catching the animal.... Maybe we're both wrong, I don't know.

The panic end SHOULD NOT be at the horse. My own reasoning on this is I have had a horse release this snap while drinking water and eating from bumping it on the bucket resulting in a loose horse.

How easy is it, trying to try to grab a snap on an errant horse, that is jerking his head and carrying on? When the panic snap is on the trailer, it is much easier to reach. We have tried both ways, and prefer a direct access to the panic snap.
