The last few times we have used our generator it hasn't run quite "right". Bogging down for a few seconds before kicking in when the a/c comes on and such. We took it in and was told that it wasn't the generator, it must be the trailer so we tried it with our camper and it did the same thing. Now I'm getting NO power from the outlets. It doesn't sound like it's runing at "full power". Like it's in powersaver mode and not increasing RPM's when a load is added.
Any ideas? It's not even keeping it's own battery charged. I've had to use the pull cord to start it. Fortunately it starts on the first pull.

Sounds like the governor is not behaving properly, and maintaining the correct rpm. Under your carb, you will see a lever coming from the crankcase with some rods and springs leading to your throttle plate. If this is not moving when your engine is running, it could be a reason for your troubles.
When is the last time your fuel filter, gas, spark plug and air filter were changed?
You might try using a gas treatment to clean out your carburetor. The fuel can varnish during down times if a stabilizer is not added before storage. This will cause a poor performance.

I don't know anything about that generator but my Kubota has a fuse that blows sometimes that will keep it from making power. Runs in the economy mode when that happens too. If it has any fuses I'd check them.

That was going to be my first suggestion too. Check breakers and/or fuses.

Does your Kipor have a 12 volt DC overload switch on the control panel? If so, shut engine down, press/reset switch, restart engine and load test... If my Yamaha goes into a overload, it will not produce any current until I shut the engine down and restart it.... I don't have to replace any fuses or trip any breakers, just shut down and restart.... The curling iron, hair dryer and A/C on all at the same time will make quick work of "kicking the breaker"!!!

Thanks y'all.
I can't find any fuses, it mentions one in the manuel but it doesn't say where it is. For trouble shooing it just has suggestions for starting problems. It starts just fine. My husband added some seafoam to it yesterday and I ran it for awhile. When the problems first started my husband gave it a tune up. Oil, filters, spark plug were all replaced but it didn't make a difference. It had fresh gas, we had been using it all summer working around here.
I found this on the rv forum. http://www.kipornorthamerica.com/ServiceManuals.aspx and in the one that is third from the bottom on page 18 it gives some trouble shooting info. I found lots of good info on this page. Hopefully I can get it running right. I hate when things don't work right.

Sorry for not answering sooner, we went up to the lake with the camper, without the generator.
It's nothing I know how to fix. We are going to have to take it in somewhere. I emailed Kipor and they sent me a sheet to take in and have the shop run a test. The lady said it would tell them what to look at.

My generator has a funny looking outlet that says <PROTECTOR DC 12v 8.3A> It has a orange button next to it labeled in for on and out for off. It doesn't do anything when you push it. I think it is stuck "in". The switch has an overload light but it isn't lit.
What is that outlet for? I've never seen a plug like that.

My guess is that it may be your "battery charger" outlet... Did your generator come with a cord that plugs into that outlet?
