I have the UsRider Insurance, but have not had to use it (Thank Goodness!)

I am due to renew my AAA auto plan and wonder if I would have as good coverage on my vehicles (other than truck/trailer) with USRider....maybe not renew AAA?? Is anyone using it for all your emergency road needs?

US Rider will cover all vehicles you are in, as a passenger, driver or owner. No need to also have AAA. Save your hard earned pennies and go with only US Rider. Good luck!

No sense in having both. Like another poster said, USR will cover you in whatever vehicle you are in. I am notorious for locking keys in my vehicle and have used USR for that a couple times; also, had them come help me a few years ago when I couldn't get my diesel started after work one really, really cold evening. We had to use them twice when we were hauling the trailer and were states away from home. Their service is great and we have not missed AAA at all---except for their maps and that's what friends are for.

What is the average cost for US Rider...I have thought about it but being a single girl I have to watch my pennies.....Are there different options that you can get?

That one time we broke down in WV we were coming home to PA from dropping a mare off in KY. It was February and with the wind chill factor was minus 20 degrees. The truck just up and died on a long hill on the interstate. We called USR and they were so nice. We were really worried about the cold getting to us if we were stuck there for long. The girl from USR kept calling us every 10 or 15 minutes to check on us. It took about 45 minutes for a tow truck to come for us. They hauled the truck and trailer together, dropped the trailer in a lot, and then took the truck to a shop. The tow truck driver then took us to a hotel that wouldn't even let us into the lobby because we had our 2 heelers with us. He took us to another hotel who welcomed the dogs. We were there for 2 nights until the truck was fixed. Was over a weekend so had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. Ended up being the alternator. The same tow truck driver came and got us and took us back to the truck. He said his co did that because of the USR contract. He said AAA members wouldn't get that service. The only bright spot of the weekend was I won the Superbowl pool at work (we watched in hotel bar) and the money I won--$500 almost paid for the work on the truck and the hotel.

BEST money I have ever spent!  Haven't had to use on my truck/trailer yet.  It's always been my car.  Just had to have it towed 2 weeks ago.  Paid for the membership alone.  I have decided that this is one renewal that will get done above all others (magazines, clubs, cable, etc) every year!

I used them last week. Trailer tire came apart and I couldn't get the lug nuts to break loose and I was out in the middle of nowhere. I was worried about not being able to get a signal but got out and they called back twice checking on me. I have had them about 4 years and that's the first time I have used them. Well worth the money, which I don't think is to bad.

Well....I think I jinxed myself!!  Stayed at Hungry Horse (Va) all last week. Wonderful time, as always. Left Sat. afternoon and took the back road off that mountain below Galax so I don't have to go DOWN Fancy Gap!!(Some of you know what I mean!!) Have taken this route down a few times with no problem. Long story short...coming out of the last downhill, brakes gave out, smoking like crazy. Finally managed to get over to the side of an abandoned church (!!!) in Lowgap, N.C. Called US Rider and they came to get my truck and brought another truck for my trailer and 3 horses. Towed truck and trailer to Mocksville,N.C (Pinot Diesel) , who put my horses up in their pasture, fixed my truck, gave us a truck to go 10 min. to a hotel and treated us like family!

US Rider kept in contact with us the entire time they were setting everything up and I AM A BELIEVER NOW!!! Folks....don't leave home without it. They are wonderful! It was a really scary experience, but we aren't looking back...everyone was safe and there is no price tag on your life...and life continues to be good!

We just missed each other at Hungry Horse. We arrived last Saturday afternoon and stayed until yesterday--Friday. It's a great place! Glad you got everything fixed with your brakes. Must have been scarey losing brakes. If I'd have known, we could have brought you back to Hungry horse and you could have rode another day. I couldn't believe how US Rider rep kept in touch with us when we broke down. They're the best.

I sure hated to leave HHE when we did....Our weather was perfect and will probably go back again this fall.

Yep, no brakes is pretty un-nerving...but I can't say enough about US Rider.

I see you are from PA.  Have you ridden at Gettysburg??

We have ridden at Gettysburg. Went there with another family about 10 years ago. It was very nice. We had a movie night at home about a week before we left and watched the Gettysburg movie so that our kids could have an appreciation of what Gettysburg was all about. We also did a driving tour the first morning that we were there, again so that the kids could put it all into perspective. The trails were beautiful and you could get close to the monuments, but you are not permitted to ride on the battlefield. We did line up and do a "charge" in a field. Couldn't help it.
