Too many variables without some specific information. GN trailers can vary in weight from 4K# to 20K #'s. The trucks that are required will vary from a 150 to sport trucks.
You need to be more specific about what trailer you're considering.

I have an all aluminum 3h sl 8ft LQ. I have no problems pulling it with my F250 ext cab 6.0 .Don't know it's back there half the time....My cousin owned it before I bought it and he towed it with a 97 F350 7.3 but didn't have the turbo on it. He had no problems....

Ah, yes he did have a turbo on it.
I always like to hear the, "I pull a 10,000lb trailer....and I don't even know it's back there." B as in B, S as in S.
I pull a 8' straight wall weekender, 24' on the floor with three head in the back.....I pull with a '01 Ford Powerstroke, with a 60hp chip...I know it's back ALL the time.

See the reason you probably notice and he didn't because there is a huge differences in pickups that you 2 have. I owned srw 7.3's and a dually 7.3. I owned srw 6.0 and a dually 6.0. The differnce between the 6.0 and the old 7.3 is huge. All of these truck were 1 tons. I had a 8ft sw 24' on the floor featherlite and when I changed from my old 7.3 srw to my 6.0 srw it blew my mind. The new 6.0's have power that the old 7.3's didn't dream of. And I didn't notice that trailer was back there when I pulled it with my 6.0.

1st thing you need to do is look at the weight rating on your truck. Most of us pull trailers heavier then what our tow vehicle is rated for. Manufactures rate vehicles at around 80% of what they can actually handle. You can add air bags, chips etc for more pulling power. The main concern should be your ability to stop and thats why they rate your tow vehicle. If your going to tow something more the your tow vehicle is rated for you should consider purchasing a trailer with Ele / Hyd brakes, this will help out alot considerability.

One should understand that the 7.3l IH (Navistar) diesel has been around in various configurations since 1990? The early 7.3 liter diesels were Indirect Injected (IDI) and didn't have a turbo. Then a turbo was added. Mid model year of 1994 saw the first DI (Direct injected) 7.3l, known as the Powerstroke. In model year 2003 the 6.0 Powerstoke was introduced.
So yeah, an early non turbo 7.3l's don't have near the power of the 6.0.
Point being that the modifications I have made to my 7.3l Powerstroke puts it around 300 hp. The stock 6.0's are 325hp.

"Couldn't tell it was there" is an expression referencing that your truck has plenty of power to pull that specific trailer and pulls it with ease. It doesn’t mean literally "I didn't know it was there" so why don't you just chill out a little. And also your 7.3 may have 300hp but you need to look at torque too.
