Hi,

Carlisle Radial Trail ST 235/85 R16 on 8000# axles.

I want to change them out. I would honestly appreciate suggestions on the best tires available. It seems there are pro's and con's with alot of them which makes it a little frustrating.

Well you gotta ask yourself how much you want to spend on tries because they are not cheap. I'm pretty sure I have goodyear wranglers on never had problem or a flat with them.

I'm not going to tell you any more, bite the bullet and get a set of.... Goodyear Unisteel G614RST. They only come in one size.

LT235/85R16 load range "G"

You've been a member of this forum for several years and read the many discussions about tires. By now you should know the general consensus about Carlisle tires. Your question has been often asked, and a search will reveal a great deal of information.

A final thanks. I found a local company and priced them out at $1100 installed. These people deal with semi's and regular vehicles. It is going to be a couple of months before I can switch. They are a little higher than what I expected. Thanks again....

That's about right, around here they're $275.00 a piece/each/one single tire put on, balanced and blown up... And that was with a one legged, cigar chewing, retired fireman, farmer discount!! Don't know what they would have cost, had I made him mad!

We just switched a friend trailer, that has 8k axles, over to 215/75R-17.5's...Kumho.

5 wheels, 5 tires, 32 studs (5/8") and 32 flanged nuts, mounted...me doing the work....$1980

She was looking at $325/ea on the Goodyear 614's.....she's set for a long time now.

Well, at least until she runs over some tire-flattening road debris...

But on the bright side, the tire is just a tad over $200, instead of a tad over $300 for the 614's
