Image1, I can only tell you what I did, which is what I read on a previous thread here.
Search out all the Morgan built trailers on this site that are three horse BP. Look for years close to the one you're interested in buying. Read each listing and see how well each matches up to the one you are looking at.
Then search via Craigslist, tacktrader or any other trailer site and do the same thing.
It takes a little time, but can be worth it. Remember to take in to consideration the condition of the trailer.
People will warn you about steel frame trailers with aluminum skin. You can search the posts for more information on that topic, though.

I would use the search button and search the posts for the last 365 days. I can say that I learned from reading here that older trailers with an aluminum skin over a steel frame had problems because the steel and aluminum were not adequately or properly separated from each other. The contact between the aluminum and steel causes a corrosive reaction. Maybe one of the veteran posters knows the specific threads to read, or maybe they will just post their knowledge again.
