The back of my truck hits the under of the trailer if we are not careful. Rather than putting blocks under the axles, I was wondering if I can get away with just raising the nose up? How high past level can I raise it without it being a problem?

Well, if you raise it high enough you'll put the entire load on the back axle...

The higher you raise the nose above level, the more weight you will place on your rear most axle. At some point this will become detrimental. The difference can be determined at a weigh station. Obviously, you would not want to exceed the weight bearing capabilities of your axle and or your tires.

How long is your trailer? The longer it is the more you can get away with without causing a problem.

On my trailer, I bumped the bed rail on my new truck the first time I had a sharp turn on a sloping hill. I immediately went home and raised my gooseneck coupler to the next hole. ( which raised me from about 8" to 11" above the rails)  This put me slightly above level. When I crossed the scales, My back axle was slightly heavier than my front.  Both were well with in their rating, and the back axle was only about 400 lbs heavier than the front.  I figured I could get that much variance just in how I loaded horses in the trailer. If I put the bigger horses in the back. So I stopped worrying about it.

Like the suggestion above. Make the change, load the trailer up and go weigh the axles.
