There ia an auction coming up in my area and they are listing two used generators. One is a Honda EM3500 (68db )and the other is a Mitsubishi MGE6700 (72 db ). Anyone out there familiar with these units ? Are they too loud ? What would be a reasonable bid on them ?

These look like a generator you would find on a construction jobsite. Both are much too loud to take camping unless you're going alone. And, being as I wouldn't know anything about either one, I wouldn't give a hundred dollars for the both of them together...... There's no telling what's wrong with them or the hell they have been through..... What's the reason or them being sold? Not stolen are they? I wouldn't buy a used generator from anyone unles I knew the generator and the person, or it would have to have some pretty good warranty with it.

I have a Honda Eu3000is and it is 58 dB @ rated load 49 dB @ 1/4 load. I usually run it on 1/4 load and it sits along side the trailer and I don't hear it.

We just bought a new Cummins/Onan P4300ie direct from our local Cummins dealer and was around $700 cheaper than the Honda EU3000. And after running both of the and trying them side by side the Cummins/Onan is just as quiet as the Honda with MORE POWER! We had it on the truck bed running and could talk in a normal tone with no problem, then we turn on the power saver and cut the level in half! Best $1100. I ever spent!
