Truck question??

Have a 2000 F350 that has a gremlin living inside. No, really, am having issues with the inside lights going on and off. Also, displays that a "door is ajar" on the panel, but it is not. Not too bad in the day time, but at night it can be like a "disco" with the light going off and on or the light just stays on and everybody can see you (and they are wondering why you have the light on). Just had to pull out the fuse to stop it. Have replaced the fuse and it still does it. Concerned that the way the light stays on, it will run the battery down. Has anyone had this problem before????

Check the door switch on each door.  Either the switch is loose or broken in its mount. Or there's a short in one or more of the switches.  Replacing the fuse didn't do anything because the fuse is not the issue.

The door ajar switch is mounted to the latch inside of the door, these are a fairly comon failure item. Squirting penitrating oil into latch and working the mechanism with a screw driver may fix problem for a while but will probably still need repaired in future.  Rod

Have had same problem with my 99's. The switch that controls it is in the door latch. There is a GEM module in the truck that shuts the lights off after about 15 minutes or when you get above a certain speed (around 10 or 15 mph). Ford garage said to drown the latches with some sort of spray lube. Done them both and haven't had to replace any parts yet. Lubing about once or twice a year seems to work on mine. Good luck!!

Yes... As the switch makes and breaks its contact.  the cabin lights and "Door ajar" indicator will flash.

Absolutely do all the doors, if you have an Excursion do the back door also as we've had trouble with our 2000 also. This is just one of those goofy things that is very annoying until you figure out how to fix it. Any door that opens, turns on the interior light, has one of these switches in it and needs lubed.
