i am looking at two different  used trailers that are exactly the same except one has a bare bones weekend package and one does not.  The price difference between the two is about $3,000.

I don't have to have a weekend package but of course it would be nice to have. My question - is the extra $3,000 close to or even less what it would cost to put my own in? The weekend package in the more expensive trailer includes wiring, insulation, heat and ac and shower/sink.

Thanks

Just saw an ad from a conversion company. Line & insulate 4 ft short wall for $2800. AC with heat heat strip is $590.

Yes, you can do it cheaper. But what is your time worth? Here in MN we are finally getting ready to get out and use our trailers, and I wouldn't want to be tied down to a trailer conversion. Besides, if you are like me you would never get it done.

Buy the one that's done if everything else is equal.

Conversions are not cheap. I would go with the one that is done if all else is the same. You might find that its a nice thing to have, even if you dont use it much.

I went to look at the one today with the weekend package. It was home built - a good job for home built but a few too many cords and hoses sticking out here and there. Will keep looking.

Some home built interiors, will actually detract from the trailer and lower its value. If it has home built electrical, water and gas systems, a comprehensive examination should be preformed, to determine the quality of the installations. Your life could depend on it.
