If I eventually get a new trailer, I'm wanting to get a generator for it...what do you recommend and why? Also, where to locate it (rear tack, manger, roof rack)

We have an Onan; gas powered with a remote start in the LQ. We placed ours in the hay rack on the roof and purchased a cover for it that matches our trailer. We have had one that ran on propane previously and like the ease of pulling up to the pump or filling this one up with a gas can much better. Very quiet.

We Bought this Yamaha http://www.wisesales.com/YamahaEF2400iS.html. It is just enough to pull out of the mid tack and chain to a tree. It runs the AC successfully too. I think I would have liked a permanently mounted one but I weighed the weight vs. feeling it through the trailer if it was in the bed of the truck or in the rear or roof of the trailer. I am a very light sleeper and that would kill me.
I am very pleased with it so far. We used it all last season with no issues. I was just thinking I should drag it out and make sure the gas stabilizer is doing it's job.

Sorry but I got this picture in my head of a couple or three guys walking up while you're away from camp, your generator is running, with an eletric chainsaw in hand, they cut down the tree and then lift the generator and run off with it and the saw, all the while while the generator is still running!!!.... Guess I need to go take my medication this morning!!
jkrabel.... We use a Yamaha EF3000ISEB, carry it around in the bed of the truck, works for what we're doing. This way what ever trailer I'm using, the generator is always in the truck with me.

We have an Onan 4000 Microquiet mounted inside an insulated box in the bottom of the rear tack. Have an 110v air compresser mounted on top of that. Have remote start in the LQ, and a 20 gal tank in the manger. Works fabulous, quite quiet, and still have room to take everything.
