We have a trailer with LQ and while at the American Royal at night the temp got down to 28 we had condensation on the edge of the metal strip around the roof inside. Is this normal when it gets that cold on a aluminum trailer? or does it need to be better insulated?

Condensation is pretty normal, anywhere damp air inside contacts a cool surface water will condense. If you can run the ac (that helps dry the air) when you get home and aren't using it I've found that helps prevent getting the musty/moldy smell if there's lots of condensation.

Any time condensation forms, it is because the warm, moist, inside air is in direct contact with a cool surface. The area where condensation is forming has inadequate insulation allowing the heat transfer. Aluminum will conduct heat or cold faster than steel, but both metals will end up causing the same affect, if not properly insulated. Adding additional materials usually will help.
