(Sorry, I posted this as a Poll by mistake originally) I lost my keys to my living quarter in my 2004 CM Norstar 4 horse slant trailer and am having no luck with getting new keys. Of course it doesn't help that the Cm dealers in Tulsa and OKC are both out of business, but does anyone have any ideas or been through this before? I'm sure I culd call a locksmith but really wanted to try to minimize the cost for this misfortune, and no I'm not sitting on the side of the highway, so not really an emergency....yet. And yes the lock does have a number stamped just beside the keyhole but I'll haven't yet found the right place to call or look for new keys. Any help appreciated.

Your local locksmith can make you a new key in just minutes.... Then he can make as many as you want.... Then sell you one of those little magnetic key boxes that fits back out of the way in your secret hiding place so next time you're locked out, you'll have those hidden keys to get yourself out of a bind...... "Now where did I hide that little magnetis key box?!!!"

Call Cimarron Trailers at 405-222-4800. Provide your trailer serial number and the keys should be readily available. Also, there is a Cimarron dealer in OKC, Oklahoma Trailer Center.

Actually, I keep mine in the horse area. That way if it DOES jiggle loose (too much dirt on the steel ), the "box" is still inside the trailer.
THere was a gal that padlocked her keys inside the rear tack area of her GN ...aluminum... Slant. That was an interesting hour or so as she and some others tried to figure out how to go over the top of the tack wall... No one would fit, but eventually they rigged some kind of hook (the keys were in a bucket on the floor) and were able to snag them up and out. (I think they snagged the bucket first, but it got caught on tack... )

Very good idea about putting the magnetic box in the horse area! I like that!
I keep having the little box fall off the magnet. (grumble, grumble) So I used a bit off that handy spool of extra hot wire, and wired the trailer key, key to the padlock for the horse area, and extra truck key in a nook underneath. Did the same on the truck. So in theory :-) I have two sets of extra keys when truck and trailer are together.
Knowing me I'll still find a way to lock them all in something at the same time! :-)
