I am a little stumped. We purchased a QH (average sized) a while back and I tried my medium tree Tucker saddle on him. It was a good fit and every time he was untacked, there weren't any dry spots. But, the last time he was ridden and untacked he had dry spots on either side of his withers and his back had some dry areas as well. The same pads were used too. I'm confused as to why? I have a wide tree Tucker I plan on putting on him to see if it is a better fit. But it still doesn't explain the dry areas from the other saddle....

either he changed shape due to more or less muscle or fat, or you didn't ride as long. I was told to ride two 20 meter circles, trot and canter, each direction (8 circles) and then look for dry spots. No more.
