My name is Dan and I am new to the forum. My wife and I have a couple of horses and have been doing Western Pleasure Trail Riding for a few months now...and camping in our Ford Excursion when we haul our 2 horse slant bumper pull trailer to weekend rides. We have considered trading up to a LQ GN and 3/4 ton truck, but really like the Excursion and enjoy the living space you can get in a mid-length Class C motorhome. We have had one before and liked the way it drives also. So, my question is, does anyone have experience towing a 12ft steel slant BP horse trailer with a 25'-27' Class C? the unit we are looking at is on the E450 HD chassis with V10 engine and plenty of GCWR over and above both the UVW and the GVWR to handle up at least 5,500lbs. thanks for any advice.

I pulled a 3 horse BP (16 ft) with a 20 foot Class C for a couple of years. It did fine but I got tired of the 6 mpg pulling the trailer so went with the 3/4 ton diesel truck and GN LQ trailer. You will need a WDH as the 18 Wheelers will blow you around without one.
