Hello all! I had a serious bridge accident with my 2006 Sundowner 777 a few weeks ago and need to sell it with a salvage title. It was in pristine condition prior to the accident and the rear ramp, tail curtains, left side and steel base are all in great condition along with some windows. Can anyone tell me where I can find someone interested in this? Where do good trailers go to die (or at least get recycled?) Is there value in the metal? Help!

Yes I did consult my insurance company, but the company they suggested, Salvage Direct, only works with dealers, not individuals. Never thought to list it on this site, but it's as good a start as any. More suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Hope everyone is safe and sound! You may want to consider selling some parts off of it first. I know myself, I'm looking for sundowner window guards and I have seen many other posts looking for dividers, saddle racks, etc. At least that way, you may recoop some of your loss for your new trailer and it most likley wouldn't take away from your salvage price. Good luck and let me know if you do decide to do that!

Your insurance company reimbursed you, correct?
They declared the trailer a total loss?
If so, why do you still have the trailer with a salvage title of all things?

Where are u located? I am in search of a "stud-divider" for the first stall for my trailer. Sorry for your loss. I bet u could make a lot just selling parts from it.

The two biggest national auto salvage dealers are Copart and Insurance Auto Auctions - they mostly handle totalled cars but will handle totalled RV's boats, trailers (of all types) - look them up on line, they could probably auction it off for you.

I posted on here asking her what she wanted for her trailer and she never emailed me back as I buy salvage trailers. Not just anyone can buy at copart or iaa you have to join their group for a fee and you have to be a dealer in good standing with good credit out the kazoo. I am still interested in her trailer but as a whole only. Ken

Just call a scrap yard. My husband's family has been in the scrap/recycling business for years and aluminum is going for pretty darn good cash right now. You just haul it in, they weigh it and then they pay you cash. Most scrap yards pay about the same, but some can cut you a better deal. Even steel is going for a pretty good rate. Call around and get some quotes but remember, the prices can change daily.

Thanks to all for the terrific suggestions. Ultimately I sent a global email out to all my local trailer dealer/repair businesses and took the highest bid which included towing on their side since that was an area I didn't want to deal with on the financial or liability side.
