My trailer has to sit outside 24/7.  I would like to do something to protect the tires from the sun/elements.  I've found tire covers, but they are designed for spares.  I need something that can easily be put on and taken off tires that are on the ground.

Any suggestions?

Have you check with a RV shop  or dealer   I think I  saw one with tire covers in it but I can not remember the name of the store

I have 3 tarps that I use to cover the double tires on each side as well as the spare in front.  I push them under the wheel wells as much as I can, then place a block of wood on top of the tires and then at the bottom of the tarp.

They're easy to remove when I use the trailer and put back on once it's parked again.  I also spray the tires occasionally.  I have this to work quite well as I am in South Fla and the sun just beats down on them all day.

Tons of them on the internet and not just for spares.Do  a search of RV supplys and accesories.I've bought 3 sets from differant fenders.Just make sure they are large enough to fully cover tires. One set I bought for 16 inch was several inches short.

Around here, many RV owners use a piece of plywood that's cut to fit and equipped with a handle. Just lean it against the tires at a slight angle and it's a quick and easy sun shield. We use conventional tire covers for the spares that are exposed to the sun.

Make a paper template of the shape of your tires, marking it slightly oversize. Transfer this to a piece of pressure treated plywood and cut out two with your jig saw. An affixed metal or wooden handle makes handling it quite easy. It even works well to keep the snow off of the tires during the winter months. The covers are easy to make, inexpensive to buy and last many years. Most importantly, they require very little effort to use, during installation or removal.

'm leaning toward the vinyl covers because I think they would be easier to store in the trailer when not in use.  Or would they be too big and bulky to condense down to a compact size?  Thanks to all for the website references.  Now, my question is do I get the single covers for each tire, or the double covers for each side?  Any advantages/disadvantages pf each style?  Also, I noticed some just slip on and others have grommets w/tie to secure.  Do the cheap ones work/hold up just as well as the pricier ones?

Slip on singles work the best.I don't put mine in the trailer when I'm using it.I store them in the barn.
