Does anyone have any experience with these trailers. I need to decide between the two and there's a signficant price difference. I'm looking at 4h slant gn with extra height and width to haul two big draft cross, a little fjord and a 15.2 holsteiner (he's a bit of runt:). We trailer every day for training and lessons as well as longer trips 3-6 hours almost every weekend during our eventing season. we'll also be starting longer trips south in the next year or two.

Look on here for resale prices of the two brands. I have had an Elite , but not a Jamco. I would say the Elite would be the better choice. There is more barnd name recognition. My Elite has given me no problems and it is an 2001 or so.

I also own an ELite and LOVE IT.......Friend use to own a Jamco and they LOVED it I would say either one would be an excellent choice. Make sure you get the trailer with the options that you want . If you do most of your trailering in the summer(like us) I would like to suggest the stock style panels. Our horses ride so comfortable with all the air movement. Plexiglass slides into the openings for winter trailering. Best Of Luck to ya......

I have a Jamco, and I am very impressed with it. It pulls great, is well insulated and the construction is very good. Not sure which model that you are looking at, but I really like mine. As mentioned, the Elite is also a nice trailer. I would also state, that yes Jamco may not be as well recognized as it is Canadian made, but most people who really haul (long distance, cross country) are very familiar with Jamco.

Jamco, Jamco and Jamco!!! No question! Best made trailer I have ever seen! We had one that was totalled and the horse inside was not injured at all. The interior wall was not damaged. The trailer went for scrap!!! Did I mention that I love Jamco???

I have had two Elite trailers and had no issues with either one. I understand that Jamco is also a good product, but be sure to get the model with solid sides all the way to the top. I've heard people talk about "soft top" Jamco's and the related problems but have never seen one.

Now I am curious as I have been looking at Jamco's in my trailer comparison's too. What exactly does "soft top" mean? Is it visible in pictures? From what point is it "soft"? Anyone know the model names and which is which? I looked at several on this site and couldn't see what appeared to be a soft top on any of them. Help. Now you have me scared.

I would give Jamco a call and see what models have the "soft top". Mine certainly isn't soft, you can walk right down the middle of it and it doesn't even flex.
