My wife came home a couple days agaon with yet another trailer. Seems to be her hobby now. This one is  a all alum. mid 80's sundowner 3h gooseneck. Pretty nice except it needs a good bath and all of the hardware is rusty.

Question #1  where is the best place to buy replacement hardware to get rid of all the rusty parts here and there. Like door holdbacks, hinges for the dressing room door, nut and bolts.

Question #2, what is the best wash to use to brighten the alum. a bit and will it affect the graphics that are on the trailer.

Thanks in advance.

If the hardware is generic, many dealers have replacement parts. DHMCO has a good selection. If the hardware is type specific, then you will have to get it from Sundowner. There are many different sources previously posted.

As far as cleaners go, here's a copy of a posting by CRG about a product she uses:

Yep,Gard is right. When that guy Greg of Streakmaster first came on here as an advertiser,Dave introduced him,and boy,did he catch a bunch of H--- from some folks about his product.Well,I finally after talking to him a couple of times ordered the Streakmaster Aluminum Wash.I found some of the black streak remover of his at TSC.

He was right about his stuff. It works very well.I'd used the Red Quik Wash by EQ Solutions, too. It can etch glass if it's not used right.I don't get any alumunium acid wash on any of my glass regardless.Be sure you follow the directions that come with it if you order it.I think you'll be pleased.

Have you ever been to a Semi acid wash business ? In our area of the country, an acid wash is 75.00.......That includes the interior also(mats removed of course). I have tried the EQ solution kwik brite stuff but it just did not compare to the semi truck bath place. I think I will go tomorrow!!!!
