We used plywood and cut it to the size we needed it but, we did leave it a tad taller to attach to the divider. Sealed it (so it didn't warp or ruin) and attached it with self tapping screws. This worked well on our Exiss which has two "rails" that run the length of the divider.

It could be left on the entire time, safe to haul horses and stuff in the stall, and a cheap solution.

I don't have any pictures of it, as it was in our previous trailer but, as of last summer it was still going strong at 6 years old. Let me know if you would like a hand drawn diagram. :)

I'd be interested in reviewing the drawing.  I have attached a mat to the lower part of the divider, but hadn't figured a way to make a safe extension on top.  Thanks for the idea.

I'll post one tonight. My hand drawn, ill deciphered one doesn't make sense. I think it would make more sense if I took a picture of one of our current dividers and drew on it so you could get a better idea. :-D
