Hello, All. Just joined.... I love the site. You can learn about alot of things. My question is..
What length does the gooseneck part of the trailer need to be for a short bed pickup? I heard some are too long and hit the back. Thanks for any info ya'll can give..

I think most Goosenecks are 8' in length. The problem is more in how Wide they are. or more how the nose is tapered.
A short bed truck has the ball closer to the cab than a long bed truck ( ball is over the axle) The length of the Gooseneck is mostly behind the ball, So even if one of gooseneck was longer than another, It would just mean more space between the tailgate and the trailer. It will have minimal effect on the distance between the trailer and the cab.
Now the taper of the nose does affect how much room you have when you turn sharply. A squared front trailer will hit the cab when you turn sharp. Where a trailer with a rounded GN or a sharp taper would miss.
