Recently came across some information on the Cook Forest Scenic Trailride, Dude Ranch and Campground in Western Pennsylvania - Clarion County.

Does anyone have any opinions on the facility and the trail riding in the 4000 acres of state forest that is accessible from the campground?

I heard from a friend that the trails are somewhat precarious - lots of roots and not great footing.  With 4000 acres of state land to ride, I would expect to find some of it good and some not so good.  Does anyone have any experience with that aspect of the area?

I went in the spring of 2007.  It was so nice.  The owners are very friendly and the food is wonderful..Each morning and night there was home cooked meals.  Lunch food was put out so that you could put together your lunch to eat on the trail.  It was beautiful.  The trail guides took us to some beautiful places.  It was challenging in some spots but that was me.  I am used to riding on flat land.  I would go again.  The campground had water accessible and there were stalls if needed.  The showers and bath house was nicer than most camps have to offer.  Debbie
